Typography Inspiration | Marcelo Schultz
Marcelo Schultz is a Brazilian typographer and illustrator who has a good eye for colours and form.
He is also the Co-Founder and Art Director at DDQ Design.
Marcelo transforms his sketches in Photoshop to create visual 3D effects without using 3D programs by his use of lighting and shade. His pieces are vibrant, eye catching and have an interesting flow, letters overlap and intertwine in harmony and you can sense the energy from every piece he creates.
I enjoy watching Marcelo sketch an idea and within less than 3 days, you will almost always find the completed version to his drafts. Marcelo has become a good friend and I find him to be very inspiring.
If you take a look at his construction of form and balance, one would think that his
typography pieces are crafted by an architect.
It is quite interesting observing his work in progress, and you can be sure to
keep up to date with his work via twitter and dribbble to see how he works.
